Yake ColorShift is a special-effect 3D printer filament family made in Turkey that changes color depending on viewing angle and lighting . It now comes in PLA, PETG, ABS, and ASA to suit your needs. Each variant offers clean walls, a low risk of clogging, and a glossy finish thanks to a ±0.02 mm diameter tolerance and meticulous winding.

Material Options – Which one is right for you?

PLA ColorShift (easy and low odor)

• The easiest printing, ideal for beginners.

• Interior decor, figures, logo/text prints.

PETG ColorShift (tough and chemical resistant)

• Tougher than PLA; relatively resistant to chemicals such as detergents/alcohol.

• Glossy surface with transparent/translucent effect, display products and functional covers.

ABS ColorShift (heat resistant + suitable for processing)

• High heat resistance; possibility of sanding, tooth cutting and surface polishing with acetone vapor .

• Storage boxes, interior functional parts.

ASA ColorShift (UV / outdoor)

• More resistant to UV and weather conditions ; longer life for outdoor parts.

• Automotive exterior trim, bicycle/scooter attachments, signage details.

Tips to strengthen the effect

• Raising the nozzle temperature too high may make the color appear “washed out”; lower it in small increments.

• For a bright and distinct stripe effect: uniform flow, sufficient cooling, low-medium speed and 0.2–0.28 mm layer.

• Plan the layer direction and light angle for the display side.

• Winding: Low tension smooth winding, easy feeding

• Compatibility: 1.75mm supported FDM printers such as Bamboo, Prusa, Creality, Anycubic, Elegoo etc.

Packaging & Storage

• Shipped with vacuum packaging + desiccant .

• Store in a cool, dry environment. For long-term storage, drying at 55–60 °C (PLA/PETG) and 60–70 °C (ABS/ASA) for 2–4 hours is beneficial.

FAQ – Short

• Odor status? PLA/PETG is low-odor; ABS/ASA requires ventilation and a filtered enclosure.

• Paint/varnish? Clear varnish is ideal to preserve the effect; opaque paint reduces the cameleon appearance.

• Food contact? Due to the pigment and printing process, food contact use is not recommended.

• Outdoor? ASA ColorShift is the most suitable option for outdoor use.
